Mailbox close to Limit

WiseHelp Centre: Email support

You may receive an email from the MAILER-DAEMON@wiseinternet.com.au that states that your mailbox is close to its limit/quota.

What does this mean?

Every mailbox has a size limit in megabytes to how much mail can be stored. Generally this is not an issue as when you check your emails they are downloaded to your computer and deleted from the storage area on our web servers. If you are not removing the emails from the server when you check your email or you use WebMail as your primary email program then you will gradually use up your allocated space. Note: All mail is deleted if older than 60 days, but often your mailbox will fill up within 60 days.

How do I fix this?

For those users who use a mail program like Microsoft Outlook it means changing your account settings to remove email immediately after you download your messages. For WebMail users you will need to regularly delete your old messages.

Microsoft Outlook settings

In Microsoft Outlook these are the settings and where to locate them on your computer. All email programs have similar settings available to delete emails after downloading.
